Decluttering the Dresser

A few months ago (maybe just last month?) I read the book “Decluttering at the Speed of Life” by Dana K White. I won’t say it’s life changing, but definitely perspective changing. Mostly what I got out of it is that decluttering is possible.

You don’t have to do it all at once, or even one room at a time. You can do one little spot, and that counts. Because next time you have five minutes to declutter, you have one less space to worry about.

I recently tackled the top of my dresser. For some reason the flat surfaces in our bedroom accumulate stuff like none other. Mostly because I try really hard to keep the kitchen table cleared (again, following a recommendation from the book).

Here’s the before and after pictures. And honestly? It only took me about 5 minutes to do this one. It was quick and looks great. I feel a little less stressed and anxious each time I look in that general direction.
