Pink is the Color I See

Today I would like to share with you all one of my favorite sewing tools. I mean, I have a lot of them, but this is one I don’t see often on other lists and tutorials as a useful or “must have” tool in your sewing box.

I love the Clover Chaco Liner as a marking tool. I don’t have to worry about sharpening it, or the markings bleeding or staining the fabric. I will say that I use it exclusively for garment making. It’s perfect for marking darts or buttonholes.

It operates on the same basic principle as the old wheel and tracing paper. The tip of the pen is actually a rotating tracing wheel, but instead of using a wax or chalk covered paper, the chalk is inside the pen and the wheel picks it up then places it on the fabric where you are drawing. In my experience, the chalk just brushes off and if it doesn’t brush off, it washes off.

I love that they have different colors. Of course I picked pink. And they do sell refills for when you run out of chalk, or even just want to switch colors based on the fabric you are working with.

I love it for marking darts and sashiko grids on my fabrics. I hope you love it as much as I do when you try it!
